Pat and Steve learned about the Longevity program from their children, also HAC members. Their enthusiasm for a brand new class for people over 50+ encouraged Pat and Steve to sign up. A Long-time CrossFitter and over-50+-friend told them to give it 5 months, and they’ll love it. Unless they are traveling, they never skip a beat, attend class 3 days a week, and after 8 months…we think they love it.
When Steve first started, just a small hustle gave him shin splints that made it hard to walk. But, he’s not the giving up type; he communicated to the coaches who provided a plan to help prevent injuries, and build his ability to run. Months later, he’s running 400meter repeats pain free. Not only that, but he’s feeling pain free, in general. Aches and pains around the body have subsided since regularly attending classes.
Not only is Pat excited about being able to run 100 meters without walking, but her confidence and mental strength has improved since starting. She has noticed that her physical horizons are broadening. This means that she’s starting to do physical feats she didn’t think she was capable of. Part of this is because of the welcoming atmosphere. No one is judging you, and you can count on the support of the coach, classmates, and whoever is around.
Their goals moving forward are simple; they want to travel and enjoy their retirement for many years to come. They don’t want to be in a wheel chair, use a walker, or drag an oxygen tank going into the 70s and 80s. They want to follow their grandchildren around, wherever their lives lead them.
Pat and Steve are an inspiration to the HAC family. They are believers in our core values who embrace challenges and build their classmates up when they need it the most
