How did you get started in QuickFit?
A co-worker tried to get me to go with her, but I said no way. Then a couple months later I decided to take the leap, and give it a try. One of the bravest things I’ve done (IMO). I’ve always been very intimidated by exercise, especially entering into a situation where I didn’t know a single person.
What are your favorite parts of QuickFit?
I really love the support you get from your fellow members and Shaun is a great coach! I love that it is always something different, because I tend to get bored very easily.
How do you feel QuickFit has impacted your life?
I’m definitely healthier and more fit. But I’m also more confident in myself, physically and mentally. I’ve done things I never thought I could do, which only gives me a more positive impact on other aspects of my life.
What would you say your biggest accomplishment or met goal has been since joining?
I still hate running with all my being…but I have way more endurance than I did when I started. In the beginning, everything was hard, and everything in my body was telling me to quit. It’s still hard, but I have a strong drive to continually be better which I never really expected to gain when I joined. Instead of saying “I can’t,” I at least say, “ll try.”
Do you have any current or future goals you are working toward?
I’m still working to get better with my cardio, as that seems to be the toughest thing for me. Also my upper body strength, anything overhead is still a real challenge.
Is there anything else fun or interesting you would like your fellow members to know?
When I started, I never thought I’d be where I am today. I’m pretty sure all my friends are sick and tired of hearing me talk about CrossFit, but I don’t really care. I’m very proud of the positive change being a member of HCF has brought to my life!
