Maddie is coming back from a knee injury and scaled her front squats to a box. Box squats allow a recovering athlete to re-establish good movement patterns, releases tension upon sitting, and makes the athlete reactivate their muscles before standing to complete the squat. CrossFit is infinitely scalable and box squats are a great example of this!
